Coach Baker (Melody Baker) is a mezzo soprano from Lansing, MI. She is a recent graduate of Oakland University, with a BA in Voice Performance. Most recently, she could be seen in OU’s 2020 production of Francis Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmelites singing the role of Mere Marie. She is experienced in teaching voice lessons to students ranging from elementary age to adults. In her lessons, her primary focus is to make sure the student is having fun while also learning and maintaining proper technique, theory and aural skills, and understanding of the physical elements of singing. Melody enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and two dogs, Lyric and Aria. In her spare time, she can be seen hiking, cooking, and occasionally writing her own music. She is very excited to join the Vocal University team, and looks forward to working with more students
